The Johari Window : Unlocking Self - Awareness

Greetings readers of Snehha Ke Vichar! Today, I want to share with you a powerful concept that I learned from my coach, Cmd Mukund Joglekar, that has the power to revolutionize the way you understand yourself and interact with others.

The Johari Window is a model that explores the different aspects of our self-awareness. It encompasses four quadrants, ranging from what we openly share
with others to what is unknown to even ourselves. By gaining insight into these different facets of our personalities, we can improve our self-awareness and communicate more effectively with those around us.

The first step in utilizing the Johari Window is to gather feedback from those around you. This can be done through open communication, such as having a conversation with a trusted friend or family member or even through a structured feedback session with a therapist or coach. By gathering feedback from others, we can gain a clearer understanding of the aspects of our personality that are known aspects of our personality that are known for improvement.

The second step is to reflect on our own behaviours, thoughts, and feelings. This self-reflection can be done through journaling, meditation, or even just taking a quiet walk in nature. By gaining a deeper understanding of our own motivations, values, and beliefs, we can increase our self-awareness and make positive changes in our lives.

Finally, it is important to seek out new experiences and challenges. Whether it's traveling to a new country, trying a new hobby, or volunteering for a cause you believe in, stepping out of our comfort zone can broaden our perspective and help us uncover new aspects of ourselves that we never knew existed.

In conclusion, the Johari Window is a simple yet powerful tool that can greatly enhance our self-awareness and improve our relationships with others. By taking the time to gather feedback, reflect on our own behaviours, and seek out new experiences, we can unlock a whole new level of understanding and growth. So why not give it a try? Let's open the window to a better understanding of ourselves and those around us, all thanks to the guidance of Coach Joglekar !

Three Phases of a Team

Hi friends, welcome to Snehha Ke Vichar.

Hope this new year has brought new ideas for you in your life.

We have discussed enough about how to start a business, what are the challenges, what are the things that we need to consider, what kind of a mindset do we need before we start any business etc in my previous blogs.

However, we cannot do everything in business all by ourselves.

We need people. We need more helping hands to work.

As our respected idol Mr. Ratan Tata say “If you want to walk fast walk alone, but if you want to walk far, walk together”

Yes, when we think of starting a business, we thing of doing it for long run, for a long term and not for a short term. And to walk far in the business we need people. We need a team with us.

I have learned that there are three pillars or phases in which a team should goes through every time.

Let us see what they are:

1. Feelings:

This is a very important pillar which we need to consider while forming a team.

When we are forming a team, the team members have a feeling of excitement and anxiety.

They are excited about being a part of the team where they can perform and showcase their skills on a platform provided by us in real life.

And anxious about will they fit in a team? Will their performance measure up?

Once the team is formed, they need a clear orientation of roles and responsibilities.

Here the excitement is faded and they get serious about the performance.

However, there will be time where in the team member would feel that they are not being able to perform. They might have conflicts with their fellow team members and this can lead to frustration.

Here we need to help them resolve their discrepancy and help them set more flexible and inclusive norms and expectations which will make them feel comfort and accepted, and they can express their ideas more confidently.

Once they accept the strength and weaknesses of each other they will work towards the goal and work hard in accomplishing the given task.

2. Behaviour:

Initially we will observe that the team members will ask a lot of questions which reflects their excitement and anxiety.

However, once the team is being made and they start to get furious and have a conflict with other team mates, this is when they would feel less excited and polite. As they do not find space in expressing their point. They might feel that they are not being given the expected roles and responsibilities.

This will hamper their speed of work.

Once the conflict is been sorted, they will take a conscious efforts to resolve a problem and achieve group harmony. The communication between the team is more meaningful and respectful. They will share ideas and seek help if needed. From now on the behaviour seems to be more friendly within the team.

The “Can Do “ attitude is being developed. Differences are appreciated. They will seem more focused.

3.Team Task:

Initially the idea of work, roles , responsibilities , goals are being discussed.

Now, once the orientation is done, they team is supposed to perform.

The goals are now been broken down into small and achievable steps.

They need to put their energy in productivity and performance both as an individual and as a team.

The progress is more significant when we see that there is more commitment and improvement in their skills and knowledge as they help each other.

We see the bond between the team has been grown stronger while they were going through the different phases of feelings and behaviour.

So, these are the three very important phases, we all need to check.

And one must constantly keep an eye on which phase their team is going.

This will help us guage the progress of the team and we will not be worrying if some conflict or slow down in the progress happen as we all now know that this is a part of team formation.

These are the insights that I have learned in my journey that I felt to share it with all of you.

If you found this helpful and you think this will help you in your team formation, do let me know in the comments.

The Law OF Three

Hi Friends, Welcome to “Snehha Ke Vichar”.

We studied so many Laws while we were in school.

Some of them we still remember and use as an example while talking to someone.

Like Newton’s Laws.

And some would always feel difficult to understand and kept us wondering where are we even going to apply this in our life.

However, later I got to know about more different laws that people use in their lives.

Like the Law Of attraction etc.

I started applying it and things started getting better in life.

This got me into entrepreneurship.

But in life at times things might get difficult.

We tend to probably take a back seat or at times leave that thing.

But one thing that I learned is never to stop or run from the situation.

Challenges are bound to come and they will shake our belief system and decisions.

Once any decision is been made, stick to it. Find ways to come out of those challenges and make them work.

This evolved me as a person. Today I can proudly say that I have learnt from my challenges and evolved into a 2.0 version of myself.

My 2.0 version also helped me inculcate a very good habit of reading books.

I realized books have a solution to every challenge.

And somehow, I would read a book and get something which I was searching for at that time.

I came across a book named “Eat That frog”

From this book, I also learned one more law which I want to discuss with you all that helps me grow.

The Law OF Three:

"What you can, What you have and Where you are".

It means, when you are facing any challenge, do what you can, with what you have and see where you are.

This made my life much more easier and sorted.

We tend to talk more about the challenge or the problem that has come our way.

And make it bigger than it is.

And underestimate ourselves.

We forget that every problem has a solution, all we need to do is think calmly about the solutions.

We must do what we are supposed to do with the resources that we have and check where we are.

When there is a challenge in our work, we tend to lose focus and our performance hampers due to that.

Poor performance produces procrastination.

And this results in delay.

But instead of using the “Law of Three”, we tend to rationalize our behaviour.

I have made these mistakes too.

But now I use the Law Of Three.

This not only makes me get the solution faster but also changes my thought process and which in turn results in working in any situation.

So my dear friends, hope you like this amazing Law Of Three.

Do try to implement it in your life and check the difference.

And do let me know in the comments what difference did you feel in your life after using this amzing law.

Garbage In garbage Out

(If you are lazy to read this blog, click on the spotify link to listen to the podcast of this blog)

Hi friends, welcome to “Snehha Ke Vichar”.

A couple of days back I was having a discussion with my mentor about fitness.

The discussion went from physical fitness to mental fitness.

I was happily telling him about how I got back to my fitness regime and about my diet.

He was telling me about his.

Later, he asked me this is about your physical health, what about your mental health?

I said as you told me, I read books digitally and watch some content too.

That’s a good thing he said, we all are blessed to be in technology era where we get what we want at just one click.

But tell me what will happen if you eat junk food?

I said my health will go on toss. There is no use of me working out then.

It is more like garbage.

To this he said, but at time we tend to eat that, don’t we?

I said yes, but I make sure that I workout rigorously the next day to remove that garbage out of my body.

He said this was about physical health.

And you are following it the right way.

But what about the junk that we feed our mind?

I quite did not understand what he was trying to say.

I asked him what he was exactly trying to teach me.

He started explaining me.

In the technology era we have easy access to everything.

But we all are either eating junk (or the garbage as you said) or over eating.

Both are harmful.

We should stop consuming irrelevant contents that are no longer helping us in anyway in our lives.

This is a waste of time for sure but at the same time it is unhealthy to our mind. Our subconscious mind is getting filled with such garbage.

And it is the subconscious  mind that is 90% responsible for whatever happens in our lives.

At the same time if we over feed it with lots of information we end up following nothing.

Because one information might tell us something while the other might ask us not to do that.

So in this case we do not know who and what to follow.

Hence consume less and relatable things that will keep our mind healthy and eventually our life happy.

Yes I know that we all are in technology era and that our most of the time goes in either working on a laptop or checking our phones.

But let us try and reduce it.

May be instead of reading digitally why not try to read it physically.

Instead of wasting our time watching shorts and then keep scrolling for hours or binge watching some sort of series, Let us spend time with family and loved ones and have a deep conversations which can get us more closer to each other.

Have a long walk,

Or spend time with ourselves and have a conversation with ourselves.

It is in our hands to let that garbage in. Or even it as got in try to take that garbage out by meditating.

And I got my learning that day. So from then I started scrolling consciously and not letting any kind a garbage or junk get into my mind.

How did you find this learning, do let me know in the comments.

A hobby turned into a Profession

(If you are lazy to read this blog, click on the spotify link to listen to the podcast of this blog)

Hi friends, welcome to “Snehha Ke Vichar”.

We all are back to our normal routine after a good two years of the unwanted gap that happened because of the pandemic.

These two years taught us a lot of new things, the reality of life, got us close to our loved ones, showed us the importance of oxygen etc.

During this time, I happen to switch my business digitally.

From the time when I was travelling countries to do business to staying at home and getting connected virtually to anyone in any part of the world.

I grew my business in leaps and bounds.

Learned new technologies and spent more time online.

Also, social media on the other hand kept me entertained and motivated.

Whenever I was bored of working, I would simply open one of the apps and get entertained in 15 seconds through reels and shorts.

I felt that’s a whole new world.

I observed that this world is divided into two groups, one performer (influencers) and the other one is an audience (followers).

I thought technology has got so advanced that it made life so easy.

One can easily make money through social media, one can learn new skillsets one can get a job and entrepreneurs like me can do their business easily.

This is the time when I started writing blogs.

I never thought I can ever be a blogger, but I am blessed to have a guiding angel in my life who always motivates me, helps me, pushes me and sees potential in me that I fail to see in myself.

Yes, you all guessed it right.

That person is my Mentor.

He taught me digital things.

He is the one who took me from an audience group to a performer group.

He simply asked me to jot down my thoughts in the blogs and I will be sorted.

So that’s how I started with my blogging journey.

But he told me one thing.

A writer is a reader first.

There is nothing called a good writer because some might like your writing some might not.

But every writer is a good reader.

There is a lot of reading happening before a writer writes anything.

So even if you are jotting down your thoughts, they should either come from the learnings from your experience or from the learnings from what you are reading.

Who knows which blog gives what learnings to who?

Hence, I started reading more and more books.

Soon I started liking reading and writing too.

And, that’s when I felt I have adopted two more hobbies.

And when my hobbies got converted into my habits I did not realise.

That is a power of a mentor in one’s life.

Initially I never had a vision about where I am heading  in this journey of reading and blog writing.

But my mentor always knew where this will take me.

I simply borrowed his vision and started walking the path.

From a non reader and so not a writer I started running a Book Reading Club and also became a blogger.

Reading not only helps me writing my blogs but also gave me wisdom.

And I did not realise that my mentor was preparing me to have two more sources of income which is on the verge to become a reality.

So that’s the journey of  “Snehha Ke Vichar”.

So what is that one hobby or a skill set that you got in the last two years?

Do let me know in the comments.

What Does It take to be an Entrepreneur?

Hello, friends welcome to “ Snehha Ke Vichar”.

Today I want to share with you a very precious piece of my learning which I got while I was planning to start my Entrepreneurial journey.

Had a lot of questions in my mind then. I was sceptical, scared, and excited but at the same time curious.

I would think that entrepreneurs are either born or a person coming from a business family can only be an entrepreneur.

I did not come from a business family.

My parents were Government employees.

No one has ever even thought of business in my family. How can I break the tradition?

Yet I was inclined to it.

Always asked one question

“What Does It Take To Be An Entrepreneur?”

I felt there has to be some way wherein I can be what I want to be (an entrepreneur).

As they say “Dhundhne se toh khuda bhi milta hai”.

And I happen to meet my Mentor.

He was exactly the way I would imagine an entrepreneur should be.

And thought “wow! He is my guiding angel who will surely take me to my desired destination”.

Hence I started discussing my life, my thoughts, my hobbies, my likes dislikes, sun moon stars planets with him (laugh) in short everything about my life.

And the one quality that I liked about him then was his listening skills which I still like and am trying to adopt from him. He was listening to me politely and carefully.

And after I finished telling him about myself, he asked me a few questions:

So you are passionate about being an entrepreneur, aren’t you?

I said, “Of course, that’s the only thing I wanna be in my life”.

“What does it Take to be an Entrepreneur?”

I said, “I feel one is born an entrepreneur or they come from a business family”.

To this, my mentor laughed and said that’s so not true.

I said “Are you trying to say that anyone and everyone can become an entrepreneur?"

Mentor said, “Yes, If one is willing to".

Here I felt my chances of becoming an entrepreneur are 100%.

My mentor gauged my thoughts and said let me ask you one more question before that.

Then he asked me “ Are you a good follower”?

I said, “I am ready to follow to the core as long as it's taking me to my destination”.

He said if that is so, just do as I say.

Start reading books.

Start from an amazing book named “ The Business of 21st Century”.

But now I had a question which I asked my mentor.

“What Does It Takes To Be An Entrepreneur”?

To this, he said just read this book and you will get an answer.

So I started reading this book.

And to my surprise, there was exactly this question printed on one of the pages.

I was amazed. Felt as if Universe is helping me.

I started connecting the dots backwards and thought life is full of surprises and magic.

With this positive and happy feeling, I started reading the answer to my question in this book.

The book says, If I want to be an entrepreneur, it just takes one thing.

Stop thinking and procrastinating. Just do it.

Just start your journey.

Yes, the first step is scary and risky.

Take a leap of faith and start.

It takes courage to discover, develop and donate your genius to the world.

Not everybody had that courage, but if you want to change your life, gather that courage and just start.

I got the answers to my golden question which was bothering me all the while I thought of being an entrepreneur.

But after reading this I felt relaxed.

Felt happy that I had that courage in me and I took that first step.

Many people just think. But they never start anything.

So my dear friends, are you thinking of being an entrepreneur and do not know what does it take to be an entrepreneur?

Read the book “The Business of The 21st Century” by Robert Kiyosaki. This book changed my thoughts and eventually my life.

Thanks to the author.

How do we know Ourselves

(If you are lazy to read this blog, click on the spotify link to listen to the podcast of this blog)

Hi friends, welcome to “Snehha Ke Vichar”.

I often wonder  we humans have several qualities and habits.

And one of the habits we all have is judging people.

We judge people on almost anything and everything. As per our thoughts and views.

Even though we all know that it is not a good thing.

But no matter how much ever we try not to do it. It happens unknowingly.

We know others based on their actions.

I always feel we spend maximum time knowing others and judging them.

Let’s try to do it the other way.

Let’s try to know ourselves more.

I know you all might just be thinking everyone knows their selves.

But I feel introspection is always better.

I always check my thoughts rattling in my head so that I get to know what kind of personality I have in a certain situation.

“We know others by their actions.

We know ourselves by our thoughts”.

“Nothing changes until we change what lives between our two ears”.

My mentor always says this to me “Talk positive things to yourself always, and just do what you are supposed to do”. Life will be much more sorted and happy.

People do not know what we think, they only know what we do.

So think positive and do what we have planned.

And let people judge you then.

Now you know what others are thinking about you because you have made them think what you want them to think about you by taking action on the plans you have made.

And if still, we get to hear something not so pleasing about us, just let go.

Because what is in control of us is just our thoughts and not what others are thinking.

So my dear friends let’s get to know ourselves well and do what is required.

Because we spend maximum time with ourselves in life.

And it is the most important thing to know this person. It becomes easy to change anything which is not serving us.

What are your thoughts on this, do let me know in the comments.

Growth Mechanics or Survival Mechanics?

Hi friends welcome to “Snehha Ke vichar”

You all know that I keep sharing my entrepreneurial journey and my learnings that I have been getting along the way from my mentor.

Today as well I want to share yet another precious learning.

So one evening I happen to call my mentor.

We were just discussing random things and as you all know even while I am chitchatting with him, I get some or the other learnings, which happened this time too and then thought of sharing it with you all.

Do you know what do you mean by Mechanics?

As you all know “Mechanics is related to physical science that deals with energy and forces and their effect on bodies.”

This mechanics is applicable to living beings too.

Our body parts too have certain mechanics due to which it functions in a particular way right.

Now you’ll will say that we all know this. It’s simply science and we have studied this in probably 3rd grade, what’s new about that.

I agree, but have you known one fact that there is one organ whose mechanics is important for our financial and spiritual growth in life.

And that is the only organ whose mechanics can be changed?

Now what is that organ?

How can we change it’s mechanics?

So my dear friends, that organ is our Brain.

We all have heard a term ‘ Survival of the fittest”

That has inculcated with in us since we were sapiens.

As humans would stay in  jungle and the only thing that was important was to Survive.

That was the jungle rule.

And we started learning how to survive in any situation.

And even today we say we earn a certain amount of money so that we can Survive.

And that makes us happy.

However, we have forgotten that we are not here just to Survive but also to Grow.

Yes Growth is important.

But if you notice Growth term has always been associated with some kind of fear.

We often come across amazing opportunities which will helps us Grow.

But we feel a little scared. We try to cross check what risk factor is involved in it. Don’t we?

So instead of accepting it, we become skeptical about it and most of the times we miss the opportunity.

Why does this happen?

It is because our brain has been working on Survival Mechanics.

And it is not yet been trained for the Growth Mechanics.

This makes us lose some great things that come our way and it may take us to a new level in life, in terms of finances or spirituality.

So, if we really want Growth in our lives and not just wanna Survive, We should change the mechanics of our brain from Survival Mechanics to Growth Mechanics.

It will surely take time. But we can work upon it.

And the first step towards it would be just accepting any opportunity that comes our way without thinking of the risk and fearing about it or being skeptical about it.

And the next step would be taking knowledge about it.

So, my dear friends, if you happen to come across any opportunity, whether it is about some financial growth in your work place or of any business, try to accept it and then explore it by taking knowledge from authentic sources.

I am glad that I have learnt to change my brain Mechanics from Survival to Growth with the help of MazaVyapar Community.

A big thanks to Mazavyapar Community who taught me some amazing skills of Digital Marketing, Content Creation, Blogging and Podcasting.
