Hey dear friends, welcome back to "Snehha Ke Vichar". Here is yet another learning of mine which I have got through my entrepreneurial journey.
Have you ever heard a saying “Practice makes man Perfect” but my mentor has taught me “Practice makes
permanent” He somehow removed the word perfect from my dictionary.
But our mind is so conditioned that we tend to find perfection in things that cannot achieve this attribute.
I always would try to appreciate things or people who I felt are perfect.
One fine day I happen to discuss it with my mentor about it.
He simply asked me does this word “Perfect” even exists?
I said with a lot of confidence “oh yes, it does”.
“I like people who are perfect in what they do”.
To this my mentor paused for few seconds and said: “Perfection is a myth. Especially when it comes to human’s behaviour. There has to always be a scope of improvement.
We cannot be perfect."
Then he handed over a book to me and asked me to read it and he said that I will get my answer. The book was “IKIGAI" the Japanese secret to a long and happy life”.
The name of the book is self explanatory. It talks about our life.
So when I started reading this book and I came across “WABI-SABI”.
Wabi-Sabi is a concept that teaches us to search for the beauty in imperfection and accept the more natural cycle of life.
It also tells us that all things including us and life itself, are impermanent, incomplete and imperfect. Perfection is impossible and impermanence.
Also one should try to accept and appreciate imperfection.
That’s when I learned, one should never run behind being perfect or try to find a perfect thing or a person.
Rather accept and appreciate the person and there will always be scope of improvement. Perfection is myth and also it leads to complacency and stagnancy.
And anything being stagnant means it would never grow.
So always remember this simple word Wabi-Sabi when you ever feel you are not good enough just keep on
doing.
