Are you getting paid based on Time or based on Performance?

 

Hello folks, here I am with yet another blog.

Today I wanted to talk about an incident that happened to me a couple of days back.

I happen to meet one of my old friends after ages.

I asked him, how about him, his family and his work.

To which he said, "everything is good but I am not able to give time to my family".

It is because of the hectic schedule and long working hours."

I said: "But you must also be getting paid a lot right"

To this, he gave an emotional expression and said: "You know Snehha I am not getting paid for what I am worth."

I answered jokingly: "In whose opinion?"

"I am sure your boss thinks you are being compensated fairly or maybe more than your worth".

He said: "Yes you also make fun of my situation. You entrepreneurs will never understand our problem".

I said: "Do you want me to understand your problem or its high time for you to introspect and take a risk".

To this, my friend said “ You entrepreneurs always talk about some risk. Why cannot you think of a steady income? A settled life. Having a steady cash flow?"

I simply said:  “Because we do not want someone else to decide our worth.”

We believe that our efforts should be justified well.

We either work on percentage, commission or profits.

This gives us freedom of work and also the feeling of being our own boss.

The more money I want the more I perform.

So my question to you is are you getting paid based on the time that you put in or based on your performance? I asked

He said: “I have to complete my working hours daily come what may.”

I said: “That means your daily wages are based on the time”

So if the input is limited the output has to be limited.

One can put in only a certain amount of time a day.

 But do you agree that to receive more we need to first put in more?

To ask for the output, there should be input first.

This is the rule of nature.

Now if the input is limited, how will the output be?

Yes, it will be limited too.

So, to get the maximum output, there should be maximum input.

Everyone has only 24 hours, so even if you are willing to put in more input that can never be possible.

However, if you really want to get maximum output put in maximum input.

And how can that be done?

This can be done by simply working on getting paid based on performance.

The more you perform, the more you get paid.

Now if say you are a new bee, working on commission or percentage-based income, maybe you will generate a few bucks initially as you are in a learning phase.

But as you know the more efficiently you perform the more you will get paid.

So you can only think of becoming better and better at it.

And once you are an expert, you will take no time to generate the results.

Here your income is completely based on your performance.

Maybe initially you would’ve taken 10 hours to produce a result. But now it would simply take you less than an hour.

So my dear friends either get paid based on performance or work for yourself.
